Altrad Services NL scores a major multidisciplinary contract and helps to build first bioplastic factory(NL)

We are very proud!

With this contract, closed with Serbian company Feromont Belgrado, we provide multiple industrial services such as scaffolding, insulation and electrical tracing for Avantium Delfzijl's new-build project. We are proud to be a part of the construction team of the world's first commercial plant of this kind.

Plastic should no longer be considered waste, but raw material

Avantium, a high-tech company, will produce PEF (polyethylene furanoate) that is 100 % plant-based and recyclable. It offers a solution to the waste problem with plastic packaging. It is also a direct replacement for PET that is widely used in the beverage industry and can thus be used in machines already used to make plastic bottles.

Historic moment

CEO Tom van Aken speaks of a "historic moment". "It is a huge breakthrough that we are going to commercialize technology we have been working on for years. It is fantastic that we will actually find this new material in supermarkets and in consumers' refrigerators."

The MONDEGO project, which started for us at 27th of March ,where engineering company Worley is in the lead as main contractor and the formal client for our partner Feromont.
