A giant gateway to the sea

At the estuary of the Westerschelde, Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen, has 3 excellently equipped dry docks including a state-of-the-art covered dry dock and 3 quays. Even loaded ships can be accommodated in the dry docks for maintenance.

There were damages to the covered dock since the spring storm that made proper closure impossible.

ALTRAD SERVICES Benelux's rope access team was called in to carry out work on perhaps the largest rolling door in the Netherlands. On behalf of BG Door International, the sealing rubbers of the 50-metre-high rolling door were taken care of.

The specific height work was carried out in 3 days with 2 rope access technicians, in good cooperation with BG Door International's maintenance team.
